Productivity in the Morning

Remember the time I had a meltdown about the IB? To accommodate this, I decided to implement a new routine. In the course of doing so, I realised that I'm actually a morning person. *gasp*

For quite some time, I've been going to sleep at around 1' o clock at night and waking up at around 7 AM. On days that I have a lot of work to do, my sleeping time would be delayed but I would wake up at the same time (y'know, because I have to get to school).

This was taking a toll on me during the day when I'm in school, learning. So I decided to flip things around a little bit.

I decided to go to bed at 10:00 PM, no matter what. If that meant I couldn't finish my homework? So be it. But then I would wake up at around 5:00 AM in the morning to get ready and use the time to study before heading out to school.

It was not easy changing my habits at the start but since I was getting up early, I was so tired by 10 PM that I would have no problem falling asleep. And since I get a solid 7 hours of sleep, I'm more than ready to learn at school, which makes it easier to get things done.

And since I technically have a 'deadline' of going to school every morning, it means that my productivity level is sky-high every day. This makes it easier for me to finish tasks efficiently without too much stress about procrastinating on them.

I'm so happy that this routine is working for me. I recommended it to a few of my friends but they just looked at me in horror, repeating '5 AM..??' over and over again.

But if you're looking to change your routine because something isn't working for you, try this one!
