March Movie Review

The live-action film for Disney's Beauty And The Beast came out on my birthday (17. 03)! Thank you, Disney, for such a great gift :)

I'll skip through the synopsis of the movie because everyone would be familiar with the story of Beauty And The Beast.

Belle was played by none other than Emma Watson, a great actress who is perfect for the role of book-loving, caring, and beautiful Belle.

The soundtracks were created by Alan Menken, Disney's amazing composer who also developed the scores for The Little Mermaid (1989), Beauty And The Beast (1991), Aladdin (1992), Newsies (1992), Pocahontas (1995), The Hunchback of Notre Dame (1996), Hercules (1997) Enchanted (2007), and Tangled (2010). There was no doubt that the songs were going to be wonderful from the start.

Disney recreated the former animated version of Beauty And The Beast as a live-action film. It had all the magical moments in the original one, but somehow managed to give it new quirks that made the live-action film seem special as well.

I had fun pointing out all the parts that were kept same as the original movie and discovering new twists that they put in to make the live-action more interesting.

The characters were portrayed so well -- I really wanted to punch Gaston in the face at one point, while Lefou was the funny, slightly idiotic, but jolly soul I remembered him to be. The special effects were spot on! All the furniture that were once servants had their own personalities and quirks that added to the movie's liveliness.

Go watch the new version of Beauty And The Beast!
