It's not always easy to keep a smile on your face. Just like there are times when you just can't see the bright side in life. But why do people keep telling you to be positive?

Everything is about how you control your mindset. You might be having a tough day and your bad luck just doesn't seem to end! But when you think of the glass being half full instead of half empty, you can get your mind into thinking that your life will turn out a-okay.

Here are some tips and reminders to help you live a happy life:

Don't Think You're Obliged To Be Happy

- Some people think that being positive means that you have to smile all the time. People get stressed out and it's hard to keep your happy outlook on life. But you have to remember that you don't have to keep a smile plastered on your face for the sake of it. If you need help, go ask for it! You're never forced to think a certain way, especially you're on the brink of having a mental breakdown.

There Are Depressing Days

- Continuing on a similar note, there can't always be days full of sunshine and rainbows. Some rainy days exist in life. However, it's important to understand that your happy days can truly be good ones, thanks to your bad days.

Happiness Depends On Perspective

- You got a certificate for being the best speller in school? Congrats! But... you're friend got a trophy for being the best writer in the world! Does that mean you should sulk in despair? Absolutely not! Your certificate could mean so much more to you than a trophy. Don't try to compare your happiness to others. Something that may seem trivial could make you happier than a big accomplishment. If you're happy, that's all it matters.

It's Your Life; Live It The Way You Want To

- Although this isn't an invitation to go out and break the law, there are times where you have to be a little selfish and take care of your own body/mentality. Rewind by reading books or listen to songs you love. That way, you'll be able to prepare yourself to have a better life. Also, when you're happy, it'll be easier to spread that positivity around!

At the end of the day, just tell yourself that you managed through, and that tomorrow will be even better!
