IT'S OVER! The musical that our school has been preparing for the last few months is now finished! I don't really know how I feel about this, but let's take a look at it one last time :)
The musical was a complete success! The people loved our performance, as predicted. And though I performed it through a severe cold, I couldn't be happier (I was unlucky enough to catch a cold on the night before our first performance). The musical was performed 4 times, each to a different audience. We had our fair share of mistakes and technical difficulties, but everything turned out to be okay. At the end of our last performance, we stayed on stage and partied. It was a great way to end the show.
I was one of the singers and came on stage quite a lot as the ensemble member. Although I didn't have a major part, I preferred it that way because it was my first time doing a musical and I wanted to experience a variety of different characters.
The energy on stage was exceptional -- it felt like I was truly a part of something magnificent and special. There wasn't a moment where I found myself feeling lost; the cast became my second family. At first, I have to admit that I wasn't really comfortable with so many new faces, but now, it feels as if I know at least half of the school!
It still seems weird that I don't have to go to rehearsals anymore. It seems like a chunk of my school life has been removed. But I do love that I can try out for more drama productions and musicals!
